Here are five free apps that you need to have when creating your own presentation folders:
GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
This one’s a killer app.
The creators of the GIMP are Spencer Kimball and Peter Mattis. A lot of designers have benefitted from this app. You can do photo editing, color adjustments, retouching, painting, and so much more with GIMP.
One of the things that I like the most with GIMP is that it’s regularly updated with new fixes and features. The down side is that a lot of the highly requested features for GIMP has been “on the works” for YEARS!
Adobe Kuler
Adobe Kuler helps you a lot as far as creating nifty color schemes. This free web app can help you generate new themes in just a few clicks. You’ll be amazed at how wonderful this free app is. This is definitely a must have!
Pixlr Express
Pixlr Express has tons of effects that you can use for your presentation folder’s design (More than 600 effects to be exact)! It’s got unique features like the color splash where the entire photo is turned to black and white except the color of your choosing!
With over 600 effects, this app’s going to get you started in your design in no time!
Pixia and Phierha
Pixia and Phierha are free painting tools that are made specifically for color graphics. You can use several layers (maximum of 64) on this free app. Pixia and Phierha was created by a Japanese author Isao Maruoka.
Krita
Krita is an open source drawing tool that you can use for designing your presentation folders.
One of the main features that Krita is known for is their brush interface. The amazing thing is, even though Krita is for free, it’s got a better brush interface photoshop.
That said, if you need a more liberating brush for designing your folder, then using Krita’s your best route.
These free apps will get you stunning results when creating your own presentation folder. I urge you to take a look at these free apps and see how you can integrate in creating your design.
